Jim Mehrer's Postal History

Social History Paper Memorabilia

The paper items offered here are from the early part of the Twentieth Century. Some of the labels are from products that were distributed to the general public. These depict African-Americans in stereotypical characters from that era. Others are from personal products (hair care, perfume, etc.) that were manufactured for and marketed to African-Americans. These typically feature light-skinned, glamourous characters. We offer these items for the historical significance that they represent.
